Terms of use

The rules for using Meltemi's software and its optional online service.

Last updated: 14 October 2026

What Meltemi is

Meltemi is one brand with two products. The Meltemi IDE and Meltemi Diagrams are free, open-source software that you run on your own computer.

Meltemi Diagrams also has an optional online service at diagrams.meltemi.dev, with sign-in through id.meltemi.dev. It keeps your projects between devices and lets you share them and work on them with other people. Signing in goes through GitHub or Google, whose own terms govern your account with them.

These terms cover this site and the online service. The software you run yourself is covered by its licence, below.

Who runs this

Meltemi is run by its owner. The owner's contact for these terms, and the country where the owner resides: Guillmar Ortiz, guillmar.ortiz@gmail.com; Venezuela

No warranty

The software is provided “as is”, without warranty of any kind. Its licences say so in full: the Meltemi IDE is licensed under Apache-2.0 and Meltemi Diagrams under MIT. Each product's repository holds its LICENSE file; the licence of the IDE is on GitHub.

The online service is provided as is too. It can have errors and interruptions, and the owner does not promise to keep your data. Keep your own copy of anything that matters.

Acceptable use

Use the online service in good faith. Do not:

Your content

What you create stays yours. By using the service you give it only what it needs to store your content, to process it so that the service works (for example, to merge edits and to build previews) and to show it to the people you chose: the members of a project, anyone who holds a link you made, or the public for a catalog you publish. You give it no more than that.

You are responsible for what you store, share and publish. Put in it only what you have the right to use. How the service handles data is described in the privacy notice.

Removal and suspension

The owner may remove published or shared content that breaks these terms, and may suspend accounts that break them. When a publication is taken down, the publish dialog of its project shows that the service removed it.

Quotas and limits

The free service has quotas and limits, for example on the number of projects, on the storage an account may use and on how often some actions can be repeated. They can change.

Changes to the service

The online service can change or stop. Notice is given on this site. You can stop using it whenever you want, and delete your account as the privacy notice describes.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the law of the country where the owner resides. That country is named in the contact details under Who runs this.

Changes to these terms

Changes are announced on this page, and the date at the top shows the version in force. The privacy notice is on its own page.
